My Friends Got A old Pride 100 Amp For The Car Has not Used in Years and he is going to give it to me does anybody know what transistors are in it. in what they are rated for.

If it's as old as I think, it has the extinct stud-mounted RF transistors. Everything made in the last 20 years or so has the more familiar flat mountng flange with two screw holes. Motorola made many of their transistors in both stud and flange-mount versions. If you see a pair of machine nuts down between the fins on the outside of the heat sink, that's what they built it with. Changing them calls for accurately drilling and tapping new holes in the heat sink. The hole in the circuit board for each transistor also has to be widened out to clear the screw heads. The stud-mount package transistors are nearly impossible to find any more.

I predict the preamp relay will be bad, and cause the receive (and barefoot) transmit to drop out from time to time. Replacing it with a jumper wire is the best fix.

I Got This Amp and it does not work. The Relay Is Bent And I Think It Is what is causing This amp to not work.. were can i get another relay?
