I have a desk top Turner +3 (gray) that has a shield, black, red, and white wire. Can this mic be used on most radios?

Also have a 3 wire, unamplified D104, what can I do with this mic besides recycle the element and head?

The Turner will work on most radios. The non-powered D104 really works well on the old Browning, Tram and other tube type radios. They also work well on some ham radios.

The Yaesu FT101 works well with the straight D-104. The late-model Galaxy Turbo (the one with no battery) and 2990 will work with it. Seems the "turbo echo" board in them is what makes the difference. Older bases with the "bucket brigade" chip won't. Mobile versions of those, even ones with that echo board won't do this trick. For some reason the mike audio goes straight to the echo board in the base stations, but doesn't in the mobiles. Go figure.
