While cleaning the contacts in my D 104 Silver Eagle, I was tighting the board back down and one of the screws broke off in the base, FLUSH!!! Man what am I going to do??? It's one of the screws that holds the base hammer/key,... next to the one where the spring is attached to hold the cable to the mic.

Do I need to re-tap the hole, how do I get the broken screw out????

Thanks for the advice!

Is this one of the two screws that holds the spring at the bottom of the choker? Or is it the third one opposite the choker spring? If it's one of the two spring screws, just (carefully) remove the other one, and the spring with the choke bar. If the screw broke off flush to the bracket, there will now be a turn or two of the thread protruding. A tiny pair of diagonal flush-type wire cutters will usually get a grip on that last turn or two of thread, and allow you to turn it. If it's the third screw, opposite the choker, the same tiny, pointed wire cutter blade will usually get a purchase on the end of the screw shaft and get it to come along one or two turns until it can be gripped the same way. If the screw was cross-threaded into the hole, and that's why the head snapped, it just gets trickier.
