Hello,
I have a new Diamond SX-100 SWR meter. I did not know that it only reads PEP on SSB and not AM. Can I do any mods to this meter to make it read PEP on AM?
THANKS,
GTO

GTO,

If you Want A Meter That Reads Pep On Am. Then You should get a Dosy Libra 631..
Thats What I Have And They make you feel happy when you look at the watts.

Re 307...

Per the ARRL product testing article shown below the model 100 is a PEP meter. See the quote below. But if you read the testing results the accuracy leaves a bit to be desired. The PEP meters with the active circuts (as opposed to inactive circuts) are more accurate.

Follows is what I found....

It is a PEAK on Sideband , Average on AM. I opened mine up. Simple pair of germanium diodes. ARRL is wrong decribing it as a PEP meter for AM and SIDEBAND.
