Just got my new 6 meter RCI and was wondering if I can use a tuner and match it to my Imax2000. Will there be enough power left over to run 6 meters. I have another antenna but have run out of room right now. Will have to take one down if this will not work.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

LOL oh by the way

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

get a book called Simple and Fun Antennas for Hams
by the ARRL and they have alot of projects you can do and still leave the Imax up

By the way I think Copper should sell a 6 meter antenna if they sell a 6 meter radio,,,,,, ForumMaster?????

A good 5/8 wave 2 meter antenna will work as a 1/4 wave on 6 meter,,,,,is the Wilson 2 meter antenna a 5/8 wave??? Copper does carry the Wilson line

You would be better off to build a Dipole. Or even better a 3 element beam. 6 meters is a blast when the band opens up!

This is a job for Dipole Man!!! Hey, give it a thought. If you have a tower already, then you have a supporting structure for a 6m sloper or inverted V. Granted, this won't be quite as good as a beam, but it will perform as well as most any 1/4 wave vertical.

Other thoughts and things I have done in the past:

Side mounted 6m halo.

horizontal dipole made of two 102" whips cut to size and mounted to the side of tower up high.

3 stacked 6m vertical array up one side of the tower(you'll need to design a matching harness for that)

Best approach is to put up a separate 36' push up pole with 3 or 5 el 6m yagi. Very lightweight and can use TV rotor. You'll wish you had a yagi in any case if you really want to enjoy 6m. Most 6m DX work almost falls into the weak signal category, and especially if you want to work tropo or meteor scatter. Sure, you'll get some consistent local and occaisional DX action with a vertical at 40', but nothing like a yagi for daily use. Also, seriously consider getting a low noise receive pre-amp.
