You know what that means. The reatil Cb shops will take full advantage of this and jack the prices up really high... Kinda makes one want to go ham and i really dont want to do that.... |

Give it a little time and the formal announcement will be out. They have sent memos to distributors that the CB radios will be halted from production. Despite the fact they are higher quality rigs than Cobra (at least they were in past years) they never could keep up in sales simply due to the popularity of the brand name "cobra". Times are hard and CB sales aren't what they used to be, it's just business. |

Uhh, they DID announce dropping SSB CB radios last year. Maybe that's the basis for the rumor?

Hey big jake, You can say your sorry now..lol... Read Tech671's post and you'll know that WE are the one's to find out from the horsed mouth.. It is also interesting to note that for many years, all the cobra radio's were nothing but uniden boards,even to this day there are still a few out there, i don't know however if cobra has continued to use uniden boards or if they have now moved to there own line.. interesting indeed |

See how rumors start! Yes they are discontinuing there ssb radio's but not there others its there RADAR DETECTORS there discontinuing..I would bet they bring the grant back later too..

I e-mailed uniden and they replied as far as they know they are not discontinuing their c.b. radios.I am glad their not. |

Hey all,
I did the same and e-mailed Uniden. This was the response I received (which I've edited only what is obvious)
Mr. (edit)XXXXXXX (my last name),
I don't know the source of the rumors, but I can tell you that Uniden has no intention
of discontinuing the CB Radio business. You can rest easy!

there is lot's of internet rumors floating all through the world wide web stating that state Uniden will discontinue producing Citizen Band radios. I see you have not posted a press release on this subject yet, but I ask you if you could please give me the facts on the truth or fiction of this rumor.

Now with that said, all I can say is this is what they told me. Many times, the public is the last to know with retailers knowing well ahead of time so thay can plan and maybe even stock up, or unload. With that said, I add my disclaimer:

I personally think in my gut that Tech671 speaks the truth. No offense Tech671, but I hope your wrong (just this one time  . I'm a Uniden fan.
