Can someone please tell me the purpose of talkback??? I hear these radios with echo, and they sound really bad...I think the ideal sound would be like that of an FM brodcast station....Just curious........

When used correctly echo can sound good, Talkback is to allow the operator to hear himself and set the time and or delay in the echo.
