I know this is a little off from the cb radio page but has anyone got any info on a g whiz kit to install in a radio shack pro2045 scanner? I do believe that these are the kits to eliminate that awful noise when you're scanning the police bands. Thanks!! |

The 2045 has a data/tone-squelch already built in. It is the [DATA] button by the left of the display. When engaged, it should skip over any non-voice signal when scaning or searching. Some other scanners in the Radio Shack line(PRO-2004/5/6 & 2035) require you to actualy build a tone squelch from scratch and install it yourself. Those instructions can be found in "The Ultimate Scanner" by Bill Cheek, chapter 6. |
