I have a cobra 41 plus mobile cb. I want to know why I can't get it to work right. When I turn it on I can't hear any static and there is no modulation when I talk into the microphone. I have tried another mic and thats not the problem.
When I turn the radio to the weather channel it works fine.
Can anyone tell me what the problem might be and how can I fix it.

The problem is that it's a very old throwaway radio. Parts for the "Plus" series of Cobra radios are different from most of their more popular models, and hard to find. Cobra knew these would be disposable, and did not go to much trouble making parts available. New radios are cheaper than ever, and this one will be costlier to fix than the more widespread "GTL" and "LTD" series Cobras.

One fella on this forum (I think) had a great nickname for these: "Bic Lighter Radio". Use it up and toss it with a clear conscience when the time comes. That's what the manufacturer meant in the first place.

Sure, you COULD make a heroic effort and revive it, but the cost just won't be justified by the value it represents when you're done.
