I have a question on switch boxes that you use for several different radios hooked up to one antenna. If you run an amp, can any of the power coming out effect any of the other radios that are hooked in line but not being utilized? I was told that you can ruin a radio pending on how much you're putting out in watts from a linear. |

The switch box should break any connection between radios not in use and the antenna. To make it safer, however, if all your radios are putting out a carrier that's safe for the amp, why not put the switch box between the amp and the radios, that way all them can use the amp if need be. If you really need or want to do it the other way, make sure the switch box is rated to handle the power of your amp and then some for headroom. I think you'll be fine. |

Thanks Insider. Just wanted an opinion on this. I've used switch boxes before but not for quite some time. I can never decide on what radio to key up with sometimes. Gotta have variety ya know? thanks again!!!!!!! |

You might want to take a look at the automatic switch box Copper sells, AS100 I think. It requires no setting of switches on your part. Just key the mike of the radio you want to use and it automatically switches that radio to the antenna. |
