I recently bought a tvi filter that needs to be grounded for optimum performance. Exactly how should I do this and what will affect it if I DON'T ground this??

Boxcar,

You can unscrew a case screw and run a 10 ga wire from there to station ground. Use an eye connector under the screw after sanding surfaces to be contacted.
From your end you won't see a difference. Grounding it makes it more effient.

i found on 6 meters that the drake filter worked MUCH better when it was ATTACHED directly to the radio. Now my FT-620 is big enough to do that if that is not a option a short peice of wire directly back to the radio seemed to work
