i have come accros a tube type Courier 23 by e.c.i. and chanels 1-12 work fine but chanels 13-23 will not transmit recives fine on all chanels. can someone please give me some advise on how to fix it.

sounds like the crystal plexer has lost a crystal check for a bad solder joint but unless it is in mint condition dont wast much time on it sams has a photo fact on that radio

Do what bruce said. I have one that did the same thing .Turn to the ch in question and gently push on each crystal. Then retouch all the crystal solder areas . I bet that fixes it!!

Also work the channel selector back and forth or use some tuner cleaner to clean the contacts.

thanks guys , i cleaned the channel selector and it didnt help so ill try what bruce said

i tried what bruce suggested and all it does is just put out static when you key it up. any more suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

sounds like a bad crystal you need to get the sams on that radio now crystals are about $20 each today and still are made by JAN crystals in Ft myers fl

I don't think one crystal would stop it from transmitting on half the channels, on most of those old radios you lose 4 in a row, or every fifth channel. Besides that, I believe it uses the same crystals for TX and RX, and he said it receives fine on all channels. That would also eliminate the channel selector as the problem. Maybe the output is so low above 12 it just want key. Have you tried peaking the load and tune adjustments, it probably has some on the rear of the radio.
