Will a copper 3 pad or 4 pad magnetic mount with a quick dis-connect, withstand 100 mph free-way speeds while supporting the big DX open-coil antennas, like 55, predator 10k, coily, monkey made, etc, without falling off the roof of the car? For this application, what is the maximum wind- speed allowed??

yup. I have a long shaft Predator 10k on a 3pad mag mount. and it's still there when I get home from driving on the highway.

But,is a quick-disconnect sturdy enough to secure it to the mag-mount so that I can take it off? Or do I have to screw the antenna directly into the mag-mount for added stability? If that's the case, I would have to remove the entire assembly at the end of the day. Am I correct or not?

I don't reall know about a quick-disconnect. I've never used one. My opinion is that it would hold up. Try it and see. I'm thinking about getting a steel bar and bolting it to my toolbox thats on my truck. Then, I'll mount my antenna on the bar. I'm getting tired of magnets to tell you the truth. I have had several mag mounted antennas on my truck and they reak havoc on your paint.

100 MPH!!!!! YIPES!!!!

Unless it is legal to drive that fast please slow down.

That speeding ticket you are going to get will be quite large.

RTV silicone works good to,try a full length whip with a tennis ball on top and no spring,on a four pad mount.Only had to replace the nylon bushing on the bottom,100mph yes, don't know the upper limmit though, the ball helps dull the raps on my topper, can get very annoying.

Allagator, at 150 mph "Nascar" speeds, with a hard-mount antenna system, that would peel the roof sheet metal back like a sardine can. "LOL".

my old 3 magnet held at 120 in my old chevy with a solorcon coil antenna i bought here from copper years ago. i have found that drilling a hole and mounting the antenna with a gum drop mount get me a better swr though. but have fun and dont hit no trees with that antenna at 100 mph!!
