I was wondering if anyone knew where I could send in my uniden BC80XLT hand held scanner for repair. I have had this for about 4 years and for some reason it doesn't want to pick up any frequencies that I've entered in even noaa weather stations. I thought at one time that it could of been hit by lightning since I had a base antenna hooked to it but then again wouldn't the whole insides be burnt up? I have power, it scans but doesn't stop on any frequencies. Anyways, any help would be appreciated. |

Look on your scanner> There should be a 1 800 number where you can call. Or else go on line to uniden.com> |

Sometimes you have to pull the back up battery to get them to totally reset. |

I didn't catch any reset buttons on my scanner. Kind of bizarre though because I can't even pick up weather frequencies. Might give radio shack a call and see if they have any info. Kind of a nice scanner to have while on the run ya know? Thanks guys. |

I found the reset switch on the inside and wiped everything out but I'm still not picking anything up. I've even looked for some possible burn marks on any diodes and/or resistors inside to see if this might have gotten zapped somehow but couldn't find anything either. I do know that these tuning cans have not been touched to vary the frequency either so I guess I'm at a loss now until I find someone who knows more about this than I do. If not, it will make a good boat anchor huh? Ha!!!!! |

make sure that the antenna Is getting Contact to the antenna Holder. Look in the inside. Sometimes it comes undone. |
