My guestion is if the Voyage VR9000 has the same board as the Galaxy 88 why is the price of the Galaxy 88 so much more than the Voyage VR9000? What are the differances? The only thing I can see other than the color and the mic. is the Voyage doesn't have the mic gain. I like the price but if I go with the Voyage am I missing out on something else. You know the saying..."You get what you pay for." Any advice, anyone???

I think either way you'll be happy, but i also think down the road you will be wishing you should of gotten the galaxy because of the mic gain?????

ConFused,

My thought's is save the money and go with the VR9000. I have put two of these thru their paces and NO PROBLEMS.

I have sold maybe 10 of these and everyone has been very pleased.

Mic Gain?

Every report I get on the VR9000 is that it is LOUD & VERY CLEAR, No Power Mic just the stock Mic.

I think you will get a better Radio & a BIG savings with the VR9000 and be happy.

You will not be missing out on anything, Ranger makes the boards for the Galaxy line the same as the VR9000, In my opinion the VR9000 has much better Quality.

And the best sounding ECHO & AUDIO of any radio.

Just my thought's

I JUST HAD TO PUT MY 2 CENTS IN ON THIS SUBJECT.
ABOUT A MONTH AGO I PURCHASED A VOYAGE 9000 FROM COPPER, ALREADY PEAKED AND TUNED. I HAVE HAD GALAXYS,AND A CONNEX. DONT GET ME WRONG I LOVED THESE RADIOS, BUT FOR THE MONEY THE VR9000 IS THE BEST. TRUE IS DOESNT HAVE MIC GAIN, BUT THIS HASN'T BEEN A PROBLEM. A FRIEND THAT I WORK WITH HAS A GALAXY 88 AND CALLED ME AT HOME TO GO OUTSIDE AND GET ON MY RADIO. HE NEEDED A RADIO CHECK. HE SAID THAT HE HAD NEVER HEARD A RADIO THAT LOUD AND THAT CLEAR. SO IF YOU WANT TO SPEND EXTRA MONEY, BUY A GALAXY. IF YOU WANT THE BEST RADIO FOR THE MONEY, BUY A VOYAGE 9000 FROM COPPER AND LET THEM PEAK AND TUNE IT. THERE WILL ALWAYS BE ARGUMENTS, AND I AM SURE THERE IS ALWAYS GOING TO BE A BAD RADIO ALONG IN SOME BATCHES. BUT IF YOU LET THESE COPPER TECHS CHECK IT OUT AND PEAK AND TUNE IT, YOU KNOW YOU ARE GOING TO GET A GOOD RADIO. THANKS COPPER FOR A GREAT RADIO.
