Since this is an open forum, I just wanted to see if anyone out there was paying attention. Before the statue of Sadam Hussein was toppled, a U.S. soldier drapped an American flag with the "Star field" upside down. And if I'm not mistaken, all Marines know that that's a Distress signal, or a plea for help (Immediately). Then the soldier took the flag down and replaced it with a Iraqi flag. Was that an accident? Set-Up? Was he ordered to do that? Did I miss something here?

The coalition forces are supposed to be liberating the Iraqi people and destroying the W.O.M.D. NOT TAKING OVER THE COUNTRY.

They're not taking over the country! They're trying to restore peace for people that were never entitled to freedom let alone the freedom to speak out. All we see is what's on television and that's all we see. I'm sure it's a different story over there. I'm glad they finally took the initiative to do something about it because in the long run, it would bring trouble meaning that regime of hussein. He's an evil individual!!!!! I just wish we would of done it the first time.

Well Im glad we are doing what we are in Iraq. It will really help the world in the future. Boxcar, we couldnt do anything to Saddam in the gulf war because it was a UN thing....If it would have been up to the US, Im sure that it would have been done right. In regards to the flag...I will say this. I am just as guilty of it as the next guy but it is easy to criticize when behind the keyboard. Im sure it is alot different when on the front lines. Boxcar is 100% right... we are not taking over their country. we are just helping the people of Iraq get what is rightfully theirs. And with 85% of the media being purely democratic....what can we expect them to show us??
I just hope we deal with Syria and North Korea next.

If the video would have been just a photograph It would have looked like he was rubbing his face in the American flag.
And when the Irag flag was placed around his neck it could have looked like an attempt to hang him. Differences of views and opinions.
The worst part is coming up. France Germany and Russia are going to push hard to get their 2 cents worth as to how the govt. should be formed with their interests at the heart of it. They dont care about the people in Iraq just the money their losing.

Boxcar.....North Korea scares the hell out of everyone. They have nukes and the ability to deliver them to targets plus the Country's leaders have some parts missing in the skulls.

When you HANG it up side down, its a distress signal, we know this wasn't hung..
But it's in our blood to show our colors...

The Weakeststation nailed it. We had no intention of "hanging" it from a statue, but we sure rubbed his face in the red, white and blue! I think the Marine/Soldier who did it was just proud and excited, with no disresepect for our colors. A memorable cause and a remarkable video. We won (AGAIN!) These idiots need to learn. Now Syria is about to P%#s me off.

North Korea doesn't stand a chance. They are playing the "nuclear war" card they don't understand. Going against us is completely idiotic. We have thousands they are tring to get us to use, they have less than a handfull. All they have to do is launch one and we'll turn the entire country into South Korea. Ironically, they're best friends here are South Koreans, who want no war.

I still believe that will be handled diplomatically. Their leader is an idiot.

No, Im sure that he was ordered to take the flag off of the statue! When I was over there we were not allowed to display the U.S. flag. We were told that we were liberating Iraq. We were not claiming it as U.S. soil.

Here's one! Now that it all over France Russia and Germany see a chance to make a buck $$. See how they want UN to run it now! So they can get there hooks in. Maybe to sell more rockets and build new bunkers and sell tanks. Really they want to repair telephone and roads were the money is. Thats why they didnt want the war because of the debt already owed to them from iraq.

I heard on a talk show that the flag rubbed in Sadam's face was the flag that flew over the Pentagon on 9/11.
