Well heres some more info....
Had the cobra 29 retuned and it did help a little. The guy at the shop also added some higher value parts in the NB/ANL circut to help the blanker.. it helps out. He also beefed up the final and driver and now the radio screams!!

Now heres a question i have been thinking to ask...
If i go and get a trunkmount and a whip antenna like the wilson silverload 5' version will it help to solve the problem? The guy at the CB shop said part of my problem was the magnet mount antenna i have is not really grounded vs a trunkmount that just grounds to the metal via the mounting plate screws..

Something i did that kinda had me thinking it might help is yesterday i removed the wilson 1000 off the top of my car and held the antenna up in the air away from the top of the car and the noise went away doing this with the radios volume turned up all the way the closer i got the antenna to the car the noise came back. So this kinda tells me that if i get the load of the antenna up and away from the car it might help get rid of the noise so im thinking the wilson silverload top load antenna mounted to the trunk might help out here. Now i know all this testing is not scientific or per the ARRL antenna books and forumulas but im just an ordinary joe 6 pack CBer with limited knowlege!!!!! LOL

What you did was just move the antenna away from the source of noise and any antenna would almost certainly showed the same effect. yes a properly grounded antenna may help and certainly wont hurt BUT try the suggestion that where posted on your previous message. Use a toroid on your CBs power cord, add a capacitor from +ve lead of the fuel pump to ground both of these will be more helpful than just changing antennas.

What do you mean +VE voltage lead? Sory if i sound dumb or ignorant to you but im just curious.. Thats my next route is adding a filter to the power lead of the radio(even if its not the source of the whine noise) and adding a cap to the fuel pump lead since i bought a Chevy Cavalier/Pontiac sunbird Haines manual for my car from Auto Zone now i can pinpoint were the fuel pump lead is located. But i am going to try another antenna though

The pump is in the gas tank. Simon was refering to the positive lead of the fuel pump. I would definately go to a hard mount of some type. either a trunk mount or roof mount.
