I just bought a HR2510 dirt cheap ($40.00) Everything seems to work fine, the only problem is its missing the plastic cover that goes over the display, does anybody know were I can find one of these and I would like to get it checked out and tuned does anyone have any suggestions for a GOOD tech to send it to?

The plastic cover you mentioned only has the Idenfificaton for the meter, channel (a relative term) and the frequency.

If you cannot find one try this. To to a glass shop and ask them for a piece of scrap "Plexy Glass" or just say plastic glass in the thinnest size they have. Just trim this to size, insert into the opening and glue into place.

Rob5mike,

I have a reference to a good 2510 tech. That is his specialty. Too late tonight but I'll try and find the link/e-mail tomorrow unless 307 wants to jump in here on this one. Not sure how busy he is now.

Rob5mike,

sorry I'm so slow. I'm having problems finding the link. I will look as this guy is still performing his magic on 2510's.

Again I apologize for the slow timeframe it's taking.

Thanks Alsworld,I'm not in a big hurry, but I would like to have it gone through to make sure everything is set correctly.I will tell you that it is an awsome radio and is the first one I have had with SSB.After reading about all the long distance contacts made with this mode it sound like it would be fun.Agian thanks for the help and maybe I'll make my first DX contact soon, maybe even a forum member.

Rob5mike,

Great radios for SSB, one of the best in my opinion without spending the big bucks. I've made many many DX contacts on my Lincoln, most of the time running barefoot (riding mother nature) and all with compliments.

I did send you an e-mail to the address in your profile. If you did not get it, let me know and I'll resend it.

Hello there,

Good deal on the HR-2510. If you're looking for a good tech to work on the HR-2510, I know of a guy that is an excellent tech in general, has the right equipment, not like alot of these so-called "CB Radio Good Buddy Techs" out there. If you're interested, E-Mail me and I can give you his e-mail.

He used to work with Bill Good, a well known radio "God" before BIll got sick with cancer.
