yes yes yes yes yes good choice Taz. I also have a Delta Force. It has more bells and whistles but I really prefer my Lincoln. Throw a D104 on it and it can't be beat. Mine came (used) with an aftermarket stock mic so I never heard the actual stock Lincoln mic.

I had a 2950 and 2950dx too now remember i'm a fm a holic i did not like either and sold both... Now the HTX-10 / magumn 257 /Titan 485 is a better radio that a 2950 on FM and ssb too. The lincoln with the chipswitch is very good on fm or ssb and with 30 memories you can set it up for what frequencys you need and has a feel of quailty too just flat a nicely made radio.

CM, It sounds very good on AM with a good quality power mic and adjustment of the AMC VR for 100 percent modulation. Stock with the stock mic mine was a little anemic on AM until I got an Astatic 575 mobile and Shure 526T base mics for it, and cranked the AMC! Now it sounds awesome on AM....

When I first ran mine on the base on SSB, I found the receiver noise was so low, I thought I had a bad connection....I was about to check jumpers, etc when a signal came out of the thing from South Africa (me in IL) nearly s7 and clear as a bell! I worked the guy for 10 or 15 minutes, and he couldn't believe I was using a 25 watt Lincoln and not a high end HF rig.

My only 2 minor complaints are the internal speaker is not so great, so I use an extternal speaker, and on AM I find that the squelch is a little "mushy" when it is noisey. (noise can penetrate the squelch level intermittantly, and raising the quelch level to avoid it will often be too much for some local stations, especially if you are mobile.) But these are minor issues. The radio is a very well designed and manufactured radio, no doubt about it!

Who makes a Lincoln? It's not a Uniden radio is it? Is it a 10 or 11 meter rig? Just wonderin', I've been out of new CB radios for some time now. I still run a Grant XL or Cobra 148. Ciao, sb106

Uniden makes the Lincoln for President. Mine deadkeys 10 watts and swings, but not like a Galaxy. It doesn't matter, it sounds really smooth and clear, doesn't have to take a backseat to any radio! There are a couple of mods for more AM swing, but I don't know them offhand--I don't see the need for it.
