I followed your instructions, and adjusted RF power to 2 watts input with 125 watts dead key on the KLV 550. Would it hurt if i went up to 4 watts injput. This is where I've heard conflicting stories. Thanks

4 watts would be just fine. It gets raspy when you go about 5 watts , Raspy is defined as "tight sound"...

Would it hurt, maybe if you stayed on it long enough. Do you want to risk it on a $300 experiment? It will sound the best and clearest with a 100-125 carrier out in position 6 and give much more longevity. I like my $ spent to last as long as possible!
