Can someone please explain the difference between the 200 and the 203???? and also the difference between 203 and the 300??? I noticed the latter are the same price

203- pair of RM-3s, ssb, 90-160 output
300- pair of SD1446s, ssb, pre-amp that's not switchable, lo-hi, 160-260 output
400- pair of SD1446s, ssb, switchable pre-amp that is independant, 6 stage power, 20-260 output |

307 or 808, seems someone posted to add a sw inline with a leg of the keying transistor for the preamp, I haven't done it. I always get the 400 instead. |

What is the significance of the "On Air" window
on the KLV550? When the input from the transceiver is set to the recommended level this window doesn't really illuminate. However, it will begin to light up when you increase the input level from the transceiver but in doing so you may be keying up with too much power from the transceiver. Am I being overly concerned? Or should I just ignore the on air light? |

I have the KLV 550. With the power level on #6 it puts out 125 Watts. The on air light is slightly visible. I would not be very concerned, as long as every thing else is working. |

Yes, that is normal behavior with the on air light...Very dim with a low deadkey---If you put 4 watts carrier in, you will see it get brighter, but that isn't good for the amp. On SSB, you will see the light quite bright on peaks, though----looks good in the dark. |
