Is it like the galaxy DX 88?

I read them all. seems like a dandy to me! But one thing i difd notice on the page that has the radio for sale is they say it has NO MIKE GAIN is this true and why does it not have the mike gain?? Seems odd..

Nope no mic gain knob on the radio itself But for under 200.00 its a kicking radio I like mine..

Hmmmmm. Ill bet 10 to 1 there is a mod that you can do to get the radio to have a mike gain.. Ill bet the SWR set knov can be used for the gain level..
But im kinda have a change of heart. Im thinking about getting a RCI 2970 instead...... Dunno yet...

Hey CM !!! With the rite mods you can use the e-tone switch to get mic gain and the power control to !!!

So long as the temperature of the radio stays fairly steady, it's tolerable. Go outside to the car on a cold morning, and it may drift a full kHz as it warms up. Pretty stable as a base radio, though.

Yea when first turned on mine's 1kc low but warms right up quick and straightens out.
