A couple locals have these mics.

When they key down it sounds like,...
CRACK,... CRACK,... CRACK,... CRACK,... (echo).
Like they just hit the key with a sledgehammer and it echoes.

It seems like there is some sort of spring or something resonanting into the echo board when you key down.

Maybe it's the slapback turned all the way up?

Anybody know the mod for this?

Thanks

It sounds like they maybe just need some adjustment between the slapback, effects and mic gain variables. I think that's what the 3 are called, but I know there's 3 adjustments. Now that I think about it, there's one on the back by the mic plug too.

...too much mic gain.

They should be able to turn the mic gain down without degrading their audio. Have them start with the one in the back.

Viking-
Thanks for your info. but I don't think that it is just an adjustment with the dials and settings on the mic.

I think that something is actually mod. in the mic itself?

They might try cleaning the contacts in the switch if possible. That may take care of the crack sound. Use contact cleaner or try some rubbing alcohol on a q-tip.

Sorry guys,... I might not have been clear with this.

People have modded the Echomax 2000 so that it clicks/cracks when you key down. I think it's when you key down the main key button and the HOLD/key button and let the main one fling back up??? With the Slapback or Echo turned all the way up.

Still looking for the mod I guess,....

Thanks

Xlaxx,

Sorry, can't help you on this one as I have never heard it (the sound) or a mod for it.
