some people say this might be a stupid idea but i want to do it anyway. I just got a kenwood 440s from a friend and want to know were can i find a adapter so i can plug in my 4 pin mobile max to the 8 pin kenwood?

Kenwood used to make an adapter that allowed you to use a four pin kenwood mic on an eight pin kenwood connection. It's the MJ-48. They are hard to come by since they aren't made anymore. If you can find one on e bay it'll cost you about $35. You can modify the MJ-48 by taking it apart and switching the wires.

Why would you want to put a mobile max or any other noise toy on such a great radio? That would be like putting a CD player in the dash of a factory correct original classic car. That is a bad idea. Your radio will not like it and will not forgive you.

It would be far easier to put a 8 pin plug on your mic. Are your intentions to use the TS-440 on AM? If so, you are making a big mistake.
