What is the best small radio (in size) that you've
owned that kick butt. The best that I've had was a three knober Road Talker from Sears. Wildbill

Ive got a Uniden 510XL that absolutly smokes....Ive had it for over 10 yrs and it is by far the best economy AM radio Ive ever seen

Just as Barefoot says, without question, the RF Limited Magnum 257. Nothing, and I do mean nothing on the market can even come close to it.

The others (Sidewinder 400---Pro Star 400---Rat Shack HTX 10---Rat Shack TRC-485---Titan RoadPro and a couple of other ones) may come close but no cigar. "The others" arent even copies or clones. The only thing they share are the face and metal chassis.

Read Tech181s thorough review in the Product Review section on the Mag-257 and then compare it to "The Others". Dollar for dollar and pound for pound, for its size, it's a kicka$$ little powerhouse with features "The Others" only wish they had.

Uniden Pro510XL. These little radios are amazing ! You can get them on ebay for $15 or less. I have three and they all talk loud. With a base mic like the Sadelta echo master you can't tell them apart from the BIG radios. All of them modulate to at least 100 %. I have one that shows it can be turned up to 9 watts dead key on my reliable Dosy PM-1000-TS. I know, I don't believe it either but it will ! Some one explain this to me. I turned it back down by the way 'cause I was afraid that it would pop. I believe thay are smaller than the magnum 257 also. Don't get me wrong they are not even in the same class and I have a sidewinder 400 that will swing farher tha the 510 but those little radios have guts.
