Hey everyone. I just wanted to drop a note here saying I'll be quite intermittent of the forum for a few weeks. It's time to get ready for my big move from Florida to Washington State. I have the movers coming tomorrow to start packing up my things. I do not know if I'll still have my computer working tomorrow or not. Maybe...I'll be able to briefly check in from work on Thursday and Friday, and possibly early Monday the 16th real early but that's when I start heading West.

I know I get lot's of e-mail from forum members so if I don't get back to you, give me some time. It might be weeks in between checking e-mail. Got to find me a new home 20.

I know Karatebutcher wanted me to post my route looking for skip shooting possibilities when it's running. Also if I end up going through someone's home town, or staying the night in your local area, post an e-mail and I'll see it prior to leaving Texas. Here goes:

Leave NW Florida on 16 June headed West on I-10. Will take it through Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana to Houston Texas. Head north on TX 290 to around the Austin area. If I get a early start, I'll do the drive in one day. If not, I'll break it up. Wife in her car, me in my truck with motorcycle and two dogs in the back, towing my boat makes for not a speedy trip.

I'll spend a few days in Texas then head out again. I'll use Texas highways to the NW corner of Texas where I'll hit New Mexico on highway 87. Then onto I-25 headed through Colorado into Wyoming where I'll turn left and ride I-80 all the way through to Utah, where I'll jump on I-15 North. I'll split off on I-84 and traverse through Utah into Oregon, through Oregon and into Washington State. I'll jump onto 82 in Washington and cross the Cascade mountain ranges and join I-5 somewhere around Seattle, and head north.

I'll maintain my numbers, 799, and soon become "799 North West Washington". Maybe with my different positions and altitude around the country, I can talk to a few more of you I never could contact here in Florida. The journey will be over an honest 3000 miles (there is a shorter way that is 2,978 miles but I'm going to see my brother (186 Central Texas) and my folks. It adds a few miles but not an incredible amount.

For those drivers out there, this is probably easy stuff. I don't anticipate problems but dogs, birds, boat and such, we're gonna take our time and enjoy this beautiful country. I hope to talk to some of you along the way.

Karatebutcher, I'm not exactly going past your house this go around but I'll be in a much better position for future visits when the fishing is good. If things change along the way and we edge closer, I'll give you a ring. If not, I'll be tuning into your channel at noon PST. We'll hook up.

Alsworld you guys drive safe and take your time, it is a shame you didn't come this way, I was going to put you up and pay for all your meals while you were in town, I guess I will have to cancel the Hotel reservations I made for you, and if you believe that you can go fishing with Buck, Buck went to dinner the other night with some friends and he excused himself to go to the restroom, he was gone for about thirty minutes, when he came back his wife said , how come you were gone so long, well said Buck, in the bathroom a sign reads Employees will wash your hands, so I waited but no one showed up.
If you need help call.

Al,

I wish you a safe journey.

One thing: Be sure and pack the wheel bearings on that boat trailer before you leave.

Thanks everyone. I'll write the numbers down for sure. Those in Oregon we might just hook up on the radio, and if I stay somewhere close, that would be a cool hookup and get together for a beer/soda/cup of coffee....

Movers have taken away my stuff so only the work computer to see the forum until Texas. 11,320 lbs, and man I thought I had scaled down! Too much stuff.

XLAXX, the Lincoln is in the Truck, SWR's are set and we will evaluate how the MFJ Goliath tri-mag mount holds the Monkey Made MM5 for the journey. Of course, i always carry a spare antenna LOL!

Tech833, yep it's done! I've seen too many (and helped quite a few) trailers with that very problem. Inspected and repacked them about 10 days ago. Tires (including the spare) are aired up and good to go. Thanks for the tip.
