is it possible to set the mag 257 up for split freq operation in 11 meters? my friend has a radioshack crystal walkie talkie we were talkin about doing some repeaterless split operation. it seems that none of that fancy ham stuff like split or the tone works when the radio is in A-J band mode

they should start makin them so the tone encoded squelch and split works in the export mode. still a good radio in my book despite these flaws

They are a Super radio, especially for the price.

definetly. im sure people at RF limited and other companies read this board and maybe other CB/ham boards for suggestions on similar models in the future. when you know what the customers like or dislike in a radio, then it keeps them more ahead of the game. they got the features 99% right on.
i must say, not having a PA is not as fun. i have a bullhorn under the hood of my truck. the day i installed the magnum, i was riding on a 2 lane rd winding through the area and i came upon a large group of spandex bikers. i was kickin myself for hookin the new radio up that day
