OK guys-

I'm not trying to throw a wrench in the works or anything, but consider this...

Recently the FCC asked Amateur Radio OO's to help stamp out so-called "pirate", "freeband" and interfering stations. Now... You can imagine the really crusty guys taking this to heart and making it a point to nail anybody they can, with the knowledge the infractions will now be dealt with on a more timely basis than before.

So, with that in mind, is it really safe to be posting ahead of time a particular illegal frequency where you may be transmitting a continuous wave signal like FM or AM? SSB is not as easy to home in on unless you run full bore processed 100% peak audio for long transmissions, but still...

thats funny you say that 707, im looking for a cheap 12V compressor/limiter for this so i can run full bore 100% slightly processed audio. hehehe

ive been seeing warnings of the fcc tellin hams to crack down freebanders for years now and all they seem to care about on the large scale is the operations above 28.

Bruce can tell you about that processor board he uses. I can't remember the name of it. If you are wanting it to run base find a Daiwa RF-440 or a Drake Magnum on eBay. If you want mobile, there are a couple like the K40, the Astatic and even the occasional American Electronics on eBay. Heck, Copper might still have the Astatic one. Not sure.

Oh, I forgot- The old CPI "Talk Power" kicks butt, and it's small, has built in 110v supply and 12v inputs, but is a booger to wire up if you don't have the manual. Overall, though, I like it best of the small "cheap" ones.
