Yesterday (Thursday) afternoon Crafter was taken to the local hopsital by his wife. He had complained of a tight and sore chest most of the day while working around the house. He currently is in ICU with a suspected heart attack (blood showed elevated levels of some chemicals). More tests will be taken today and if the doctors are not happy he will be Life Flighted to the Cardiac Unit in Boise Id. I will post further information as I get it, and I know you all would join me in wishing him a speedy recovery.

Crafter, you had better get well soon!!! Nobody gave you permission to leave the forum for an extended period!!!! I expect you back soon!! I do not personnaly know Crafter, but since we are almost like a large spread out club, if one person is gone, it is going to affect us all. I hope he recovers and can get back quickly. We miss you crafter and you will have prayers from Colorado. And don't forget that since we are much higher out here than the rest of the country we're closer to heaven and the prayers get there sooner!!! God Bless DAN |

Crafter will be around for many years Im sure. I had a heart attack 26 years ago (aged 18yr). Since then Ive raced cars (Speedway, rally and raod races), climbed mountains, skydived and even made it through a military medical and 6 years in the Australian Airforce. I think a lot depends on your attitude and John is one stubborn son of a..... but I know knowing that we are all with him will help him 100% Simon |

Crafter, good to hear you are okay!!! I'm just getting caught up on a friends computer. Darn it, last night I spent in Pendleton OR without a clue. Bummer, I was so close. I yelled for you and Simon on both 38 LSB and 19 AM but things were quiet as I passed through Baker City (I filled up with fuel there). Man, had I known I would have drove back down and used the tel. phone number. I'm glad you are OK! I did find out today that I will be only about 7 hours away as I finished the last driving part of my trip. Let me get settled, boat back up and running and we might plan you a vacation (with minimal cost). Get well Crafter! Alsworld |

Crafter, I am glad to hear you are going to be O.K.!! My doctor recently had me cut down my carbohydrate intake due to my type 2 diabetes (I was diagnosed 18 years ago). Although I was not at all overweight before, I did lose more weight after cutting the carbs. The other day, someone called my 'scrawny'! Laughable! I am 5' 11" and weigh 180 pounds, and I am scrawny?? The Atkins diet is one where you cut all carbs, and people do lose weight very quickly on it. Luckily, with my diet, I can still have my morning oatmeal and wheat bread (unlike the Atkins diet). I cannot have things with flour or potatoes or rice stuff. I'll tell you, in just over a month I lost 10 pounds, and the weight is still coming off, and all I do is EAT! O.K., and I work a lot too. |

Taz, that is a real nice picture. Enjoy your youth my friend. Too many of us "older" folks realize that, but only after our "youth" part is gone. My daughter is going through the same period in her life as you. This move cross country has been hard for both my kids, mainly leaving all of their friends, but also from the warm weather to the cold (or at least what we consider cold). Life seems unfair for them right now but I am very fortunate that they are good troopers and are trying to make the best of it all. Enjoy all what you have going for you, including the GF. It's good seeing you post somewhat regular again. Alsworld |

Thanks Karatebutcher. We looked at a house yesterday that both of them liked. Out in the country, but still with neighbors nearby, not far from town, and in the school district we wanted. Just a nice big country home. We will inspect the inside tomorrow and hopefully settle. If it's the one, we won't be able to move into it until 7 July. Thank goodness for friends we have up here (who we are staying with). Trust me, those offers are a true act of kindness. Alsworld |

Taz, that good old (young) Karatebutcher set me up ha ha. I did graduate in the allotted 12 years (although just barely). I decided that I went to school fulltime and work part & full time that homework was unnecessary. So....I boycotted homework True story. But, after taking classes over I could have easily passed (by doing my homwework assignments), I highly NOT recommend that approach. Shoot, I could have graduated 1/2 way through my senior year had I not taken that boycott approach. Young and invincible I was, but them teachers had a way of getting their point across. It was not even funny when I got those same teachers for the same classes my senior year. Yes Ma'am......Yes Ma'am.....can I pass now?????.... Tech833, great point! I do have a ham down the road with a large tower, and this is country living so I think I'm okay but will check into it for sure. I'm going to a local ham exhibit tomorrow after seeing the house to see what the locals are up to. I'll ask around how the local laws are as well. Thank you for that thought, as for some reason it had not crossed my mind. Why I do not know?!? How could I have missed that most important point? And I do mean that most seriously! Alsworld |

Hmmmm, maybe I have learned something from my own previous mistakes. Fortunately, you've got lots of brains and the future is whatever you want it to be. You've got great potential to be bigtime Taz, enjoy enjoy enjoy! Keep us in mind when you are rich by the age of 24 LOL! (but seriously meant). Still saving for the Lincoln? Hey now, how is Crafter doing? Anyone? I just speant $300 today replacing my exhaust system due to the mountains around his area. Crafter, good to hear you are doing better. watch the "temper" LOL but cook them fish up right (I love fried fish but it's so unhealthy), and your heart will appreciate it. When I stayed the night in Pendleton, man I drove through a pass up there that was unbelieveable I think between your home 20 and there. Man I swear I was on top of the world!!! No BS. I could the see horizons for many miles in all directions. Talk about shooting some skip! Yeah, we'll get together and do some fishing. I'll make the long trip your way one of these days down to/returning from CA and drink a few cold ones (of your choice, be it barley pop, coffee (preferably hot) or soda) on my way to, or from Karatebutchers place. I must go and meet his pretty wife, and out fish him of course hahaha!. Okay, maybe that's pushing it but we'll fish and shoot skip all the same I miss Florida but it sure is pretty out here in the west. Not a whole lot of CB'rs here, and those I hear are pretty rude. Maybe I'll try and change that. Alsworld |
