Which would be the better radio? The Uniden Washington Base station or the Texas Ranger 696 F with the Weather Bands? The only difference I see cosmetically is no weather on the Washington.
I know of a brand new one still not sold in cb shop, but must spend money wisely. Everyones thoughts please. No mods will be done. Strictly stock to run as a base. Thanks

My Thought's & Choice would be the 696F SSB Base.
Much better Quality, Far more Features, Larger Radio, No Plastic here.

The Washington's were and are good radio's.
I have owned and sold between 100 and 150 of the Washington's over the years.
With the Quality, New Technology, More Features, Larger Radio, Factory 2 year Warranty, it is hard to even try and compare them.
A very well made radio, works good, sounds good, looks good. 
With several of the Washington's on the shelves here the 1st Sargant, never even asked to have me hook one up for her to use, but when she seen the 696F SSB base she got one.

The First Base I ever had was a President washington. I now own a Texas Ranger 696 F. The Washington was an ok radio, but does not compair to the Ranger in my opinion. Some of the features that the Ranger has over the Washington are: Dual meters, 6 digit freq counter, 7 channel weather band with advanced warning tone, SWR meter, Talk back, Noise Filter along with the NB and ANL, and Built in over-load pretection. Thier is more that I just can't think of right now. I think you would be much happier with the TR 696 F, but that is just my opinion after having operated both units.

Well, now I have two very good opinions. Anyone else with any thoughts? If there is another base that you would recommend instead of the Texas Ranger, I am open to listening.
