Not like this is a shocker...but take a look at this ad http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3033450497&category=1501 . Notice the guy states "There is no batteries in them so I don't know if they work or not so I am selling as is, no refunds and no returns." Why would a seller not take a couple moments and put a 9volt battery (or whatever) in these and test them. This just infuriates me with Ebay sellers! Oh well, what comes around goes around always works in this world! Just my thoughts--Kirk

radiodude i agree and have always felt there is nothing wrong with collecting anything, but some things are a bit stupid at best. On ebay ive seen trashed out radios being sold like mint adwater kents and old 23 ch sets going for more than new. So if one is willing to pay the price ok with me no matter how stupid i might think that deal is.

O for sure !!! I have also seen that happen. I have bought the worst junk for pennies. I also have bought the most rare for pennies. I guess we just need to be in the right place at the right time |

"There is no batteries in them so I don't know if they work or not so I am selling as is, no refunds and no returns" is eBay speak which translates into English as: "I got inside these radios and goofed them all up and now they don't work, so I am selling them to try and recover a few bucks of my investment. If they worked I would not sell them." |

I agree that some people sell garbage on ebay, just to see how much it will bring I would imagine. But there are some good deals too. I for one just bought a really nice D-104 with the TUG8 stand for a very resonable amount. Other than needing a battery and wire to my radio it works great. Just my thoughts. I agree with Tech 833. When you have a pair of radios sitting side by side, there is no logical reason not to put batteries in them for just a few minutes and check to see if they work. At best they are probably missing all the TX/RX crystals. At worst they are so FUBAR'ed inside that they are good only as paper weights. As the Bluesman said, "Buyer Beware..." |
