I'll give a listen, but not sure I understand the band plan - could you explain the meaning of the frequencies you posted?

yes...talked to TEXAS ( sheet with call sign is in radio area ) this morning around 7;30 am...from what i have HEARD , channel 1 and channel 5 are most popular, no one heard on channel 3 and a few on channel 2 & 4 . A lot of test signals, and genreally heard no riff - raff (yet )...if folks behave their selves. this might be an incentive for the FCC and to look at making AMATEUR radio better than it has been.

Made 3 contacts on5332 and one on 5368 con ditions were ok,but alraedy someone was tuning up and whistling on 5332 for about 3 minutes straight !! It will; be the same as all bands soon ! The "channels" are going to get very crowded, one good thing was heard several stations that made contacts then qsy'd to either 40 or 75 right away,we will see how it goes this weekend.

i dont quite get it myself but lets take the first channel for example

5.332.0 Mhz but the ARRL and FCC has said that you should actually TX 1.5 khz down while on USB to be sure your centered on freq because of the narrow bandwidth requirement (2.8khz) so on the above mentioned freq you TX on 5.330.5

Confused?
ME TOO but i tuned there and thats where everyone was so,,,,,when in Rome??

why are they listing certain frequencies when you are actulally transmitting on another ? confused ? so am I...I made only one contact in TEXAS then quit, but he was right on channel 5. So I will just tune till i find a station, then shout my call ...if they answer, good if not try again..........i dont think fcc is gonna fuss about a 50 watt / dipole antenna system , being slightly off frequency, espscially if in between channel 1 bottom freq. & the channel 5 top freq.I dont think any one gonna complain about " lil ol me "

For crying out loud... Now I gotta get another radio! Hmmm... The longer the wavelength, the better the skip potential.. I guess so :)
