833 i played with 160-190 khz for 30 years but not like the HF'ers i read about with 50 foot rubber ducky antennas! when i worked for c-ran in the mid 70's we built a radio systen receiver on 10-20 khz at the other end i worked on MMW radar on 96 GHZ! ...... the dish had 40 DB of gain! Jogunn move over.

What were the specs on that dish with the 40 Db gain? And how much power were you socking to it at 96 Gig? Now that sounds interesting.

at 96000 MHZ a wavelengh is very short so even a 3 foot dish is MANY waves across so 40 db is not hard to get. The tube put out 200 watts peak and our receiver floor was -115 dbm. We could point it at a building 7 miles away and recover a very good return. Now it was a ( 23 years ago ) SHUSH! project and its use was as a guidance system for missles but i dont know if it was even used for that in any form. We had another system at 196 GHZ very experametal at that time since at MMW there are windows for radar where moisture can interfere and render it useless. As for gain lets see to answer taz question 1 wave dish is about 7 db 2 wave is 13, 4 wave is 19, 8 wave is 25, 16 wave is 31, 32 wave is 37 so to get 40 db you would have to have a a 33 wavelengh across dish and at cb that would be about 1300 foot across no problem for you taz just go build it!

Could that big dish in Puerto Rico be loaded up for 27 MHZ? (Aricebo, or something like that, the one in the movie "Contact")

Or the one in "Cable Guy"?

How about I do a wireless type thing?

Say microwave it or via satelite it down there then have it re broadcasted on 11m.

Thats the ticket.
