I don't get it. The stock mic makes audio swing, a Silver Salute works, so does a 636L. THEN, I hook up a D104M6c and when I whistle the modulation only goes to 40%. Talking into it gives no noticeable audio. Battery was good, hooked up correctly to the 4 pin. No shorting. Changed the battery with a new one. Same problem. Tested battery.. it's fine.

I try a second D104m6c... same thing! Volume pot on rear of mic up all the way. What's up with this thing? I've tried everything and the DX99 works with all other 4 pins perfectly.

Thats really weird.I have a m6b(same thing except case is black)on mine and it works great.Sounds like you might have 2 bad mics or youre wiring them wrong.

Try it on a different radio, sounds like a defective mike.

Roger on that... two different mics, same exact result. I know if I try a third it'll be the same thing. And they're wired right. No doubt about it. I'd love to try it on a different rig but the only other rig is a 5 pin.
