Copper Forum Member's,
In the past we have had several posts that have been submitted by people useing someone else's Name / Copper ID.
While we try and do everything we can to prevent this from happening, it does sometimes get by us.
We will continue to try and stop this type of posts whenever we think something is wrong or does not look right.
If any of the Forum Members notice that this has happened to them, PLEASE let us know Immediately.
We apologize for any harm or inconvenience that these posts may have caused to any of the Copper Forum Members.

Uhhhh Lon, i surely hope you are not pointing finger at me! I use my Coppers name "RCI2990" and have always used it.. I have my account setup at the folkes house on their computer and i moved out like 7 months ago and just have not had the time to get it set up on the G/Fs computer yet..... |

I am not pointing a finger at anyone.
With 2030 Forum Members we cannot check every post against all of the ISP's
In the past it has been done to Taz and 67GTO, by someone posting useing their Names / ID's.
If this happens to you or any Forum Member and we are made aware of it, we can check the ISP address of the person posting and put a stop to it.

I'm not tech but I've never seen anything malicious from you. I think they are referring to those that attempt to use our handles (by cheating with upper case vs. lower case) and posting messages using "our" name. Sometimes, they get through and it is probably something the moderators, Forum Master and Techs see more than we ever do. I can only assume that's what Tech808 referred to, as it's why we have to register. It's to protect our handle.
Shoot, you just state your opinion, which is what this forum is all about. Your experiences are invaluable when it comes into your area(s) of expertise.

Well i hope so! Im not on here to start anything bad im just here to talk radios and othere CB radio related stuff! I post under "RCI2990" but my Coppers account is not on this computer (well not yet but ill get it setup here soon i hope!) its on another that i use every once in a while at the folkes house. I just hope they(Lon or whoever) understand that im not trying to post under someone elses username. LOL!!!! Im posting under mine! :-) |

With all the fun we have poking fun at each other its sad some just dont seen to get it. Anything I post is either ment to make someone think help someone with a question or sometimes just have harmless fun. It would be sad if we had to resort to passwords PINS and all that ..... now lets go have FUN! ....... Life it too short.

Just to make things clear no passwords have been stolen. When someone posts using a registered users name but not the password the post will go through as long as it is in the nonmember area. We(the moderators) can see that the poster didn't use a password but we will let it go through as long as it doesn't look malicious. We do this because users sometimes like to post not using their password like RCI2990. But as Tech808 states if you see someone using your username let us know and we will delete the post(s) and ban the IP address it came from. |

FORUM MEMBERS!
This POST / TOPIC is about one thing and one thing only.
STEALING or USEING someone elses name to make a MALICIOUS post on the Copper Forum.
It was posted to INFORM the Forum Members, that we are trying to do all that we can to prevent this from happening to them.

Harmless fun on this forum is reaslly great, there are guys here that not only know about radio but also have a good sense of humor, most other forums are straight and to the point, out people enjoy posting, and if you don't know, many of us e mail each other in a good way.
Our tech's and formmaster, and really Lon in the mid morning hours, on his own free time helps put this together, and our techs take time out of there family time to help us, and NEVER do they say BUY FROM COPPER,
We are lucky also to have a person like Alsworld out there who has helped many of us with DXathons, personal e mails, posts. and many other ways, he is already involved in a section of out new CEF frequency club. many thanks to Alsworld, this is not because he is a great friend.
