I would like to use some of these, just for the heck of it. Where might I find them?

Not to take business away from this site, but Palomar Engineers also carries ferrite beads, rods and cores. www.palomar-engineers.com

Do you use a low pass filter? [TVI] I have found that attaching it directly to the back of the amp via a double male helps. It worked for me.
The beads are placed along side the coax. To explain; lay the coax flat, put six beads on each side of the coax. I use a sandwich bag laid under every thing. Wrap the bag tightly around every thing. use a good electrical tape to hold every thing together. Placement should be about 8" from the station end of the coax going to the antenna.
Hope this might be of help!

Taz---You should look into a HIGH-PASS filter for his TV. Also, what might help is CORES, not BEADS on the ferrite choke. With cores, you can wrap several turns around the antenna lead or AC power cable [depending on the size of core you get]. There are 2 ways it's getting in to his TV. RF or thru AC. You need to investigate on his side. Is that possible or is he non-friendly?

Kirk, I don't like the guy honestly ever to begin with considering his attitude towards family members in the past.

But hes willing to let me resolve this issue.

I really think you're going to have one heck of a time trying to rid him of this problem, unless you give up your amp or he moves to cable. Remember that the harmonics of CB fall right in line with TV...it's really hard to get rid of that in this case. But you can always try. I'd still suggest you try the previous link.

Thing is though, it doesnt mess up our tv's and at one time he even had cable. We have cable as well, but it never messed any of it up.

I do cable tv for a living. I have redone all of the ends fittings splitters and everything. NOTHING WORKS.

Its his equipment, tv/phones. But if ferrite's is what it takes then thats what I will do.

taz,

kirk is on track with his above post.

ive had trouble with tvi in the PAST.

i say that this way because its gone! and ferrite cores, beads, low pass filters on your end,hi pass filters on the tv end, core on power cords ect. and a nice clean radio setup helps more than anything.

modulation in the 90-95% area. replace those dirty transister amps with (good) tube amps as these tend to be more forgiving than the transister ones that once the pills reach saturation point they go to hell and so does your neighbors tv.

ive got the tv in the bedroom on rabit ears,no hi pass filter just a couple of ferrite cores with as many turns of 300 ohm ribbon wire wrapped around it as possible, and at well over 2kw with 80% modulation no tvi is presant.

but i can change drivers out and put a transister amp in line and can tear the heck out of the tv in the bed room with 120 watts at 90% modulation. as well as my neighbors tv,phone, radio ect.and its brutal at 2kw.

you guys will hear me preach this forever....

you dont need 100% modulated radio's to be loud.

i get my name called everytime i shoot skip! on ch 6,11,26,28. and i do it at 80%modulation,with a nice clean signal and normally only use 1200 watts peak on a 43p and my "bus on a truss".

a good stations just not about being the loudest or talking the farthest its also about doing your best to keep your hobby from interfering with someone elses hobbies.

ferrite snap cores at the feed point of antennas help a lot, low pass filters before a amp as well is a good idea as the amp simply takes a picture of your signal and blows it up 10-100 times.

anything to better ground the system and keep harmonics down do it. take off angles that put you in the powerlines is some thing you can change
and may help with tvi. you can fix tvi you just got to track it down and cure it....no big deal.
