This may be a long-shot, but do forum members get a discount when ordering from Copper?

LOL. Don't hold your breath my friend. BUT, a 10% discount would be a nice starting point.

How soon we forget. When Coppers throws a discount, we Forum members get a discount. It is advertised when it happens on here. Being the internet is free, paying subscribers get a discount monthly.

The First Forum members discount was in the vacinity of 25-30%. All 300 (Forum Master may have to correct me on the numbers, the KL -300's) items sold out.

It happens, and sometimes 10% is not unheard of. Standby for the next "special".

The forum specials offered have been excellent deals. Though I wasn't able to take advantage of the deals I do appreciate the offers and look forward to more.

I don't see how they can be bad for Copper either. It just helps lock in some loyalty among their potential consumers. Even as a loss leader the loyalty and goodwill may benefit the company, especially when the economy picks up a little more. I know I have my eyes on some items! Just waiting for the opportunity financially.

Forum Members,

The Forummaster does run Member Specials from time to time.

The main problem is trying to figure out What to run a Special on.

Copper already has very low Prices on the products they carry and will Match or Beat any advertised Price on Products.

Copper operates on a very low profit margin to keep it's prices Low for the Copper Customers.

To run say even a 10% across the board discount on the many items that they carry would put Copper out of business.

I am not sure on Kentucky Revenue but here in Illinois, I pay the State 6.25% on every item I get in and then have to charge 7.25% for Illinois customers.

So right off the bat I am out 13.50% in just sales Taxes to good old Illinois Dept of Revenue every month.

If I added a 10% discount for my local customer's then I am out 23.50% before I sell anything.

When most business's operate on a very tight budget to give thier customers the VERY BEST PRICE on items. It makes it hard to offer discount's if you want to stay in Business.

To sum it UP, COPPER give's you the BEST prices it can and still be Competitive in this market.

And keep it's Prices LOW for the Old and New COPPER CUSTOMERS.

From 1975 to now Copper is still here while many others have come and gone many time's.

COPPER Electronic's offers it's Customer's Good Prices, As LOW as possible, Quality Item's, Great Customer Service, Free Forum, Enough Free tune up information and answer's that would cost thousands of dollar's if you took your equipment to your local Tech.

OH, DID I FORGET TO MENTION! FREE TECH's and MODERATOR's.

TO HELP EVERYONE WITH ANY PROBLEM's THEY MAY HAVE.

And Great FORUM MEMBER's on the COPPER FORUM!

Just my Thought's

Lon,You are 100% correct.I work in a nursery and, even being listed agriculture, taxes for my boss are unreal.I have been in radio for almost as long as I have been alive and most of the little "mom&pop" places like yours have gone the way of the dodo bird due to increased taxes. BUT on a good note I have always heard the name Copper. I may look at other web-sites but unless Copper absolutely does'nt have what I need and won't for quite some time I use them. I have never been able to beat their regular prices and shipping is usually cheaper too.Too often we have a want more greedy gimme gimme gimme attitude. We want everything for nothing or as close as possible to it. So everybody remember Copper gives us the best price they can and when the forum master offers discounts jump on them. On another note though remember that local businesses need support to so when you need things like a couple of PL-259's some coax for jumpers and things like that use them. Someday in the long run it will pay to have a relationship with " a local boy". This is just my opinion not necesarily those of the host site or other members and I could be wrong.:):)

Tech808,

So Copper will match any advertised price?

If so how do we go about proving to you the price of a competitor?

I have my mind on a radio you carry which I will not disclose as I do not want to hinder your sales, but the particular radio is $20.00 cheaper on another site.

Thanks,
Kattracker

No discount honestly I don't really care. Sure it would be nice but I know when I buy from copper that I wont have problems. I don't even think twice about buying from copper.

Bigbob & Bullseye,

Ooops! Did not mean to start a left wing versus the right wing on discounts.

Being new on the forum and not being overly familiar with copper,... (Yes I have made radio purchases from Copper) I simply ask about possible discounts.

In any business I have run (Retail automotive) we would give anyone a 10% discount for nearly any reason they could think of. And most busineses in my town will usually give 10% just because (Only when you ask).

However, some of you being familiar, and posibly personally knowing some of the Copper associates, you are on the defense to uphold Coppers profit margin. I can appreciate that. That shows customer loyalty and I respect you for that.

I also understand that inspite of the fact that a purchase may be slightly cheaper on a few rare occassions somewhere else, Copper provides us with other benefits such as "Ask the tech" and the forum in general.

To be honest, I would probably buy from Copper regardless that a competitor has a item I want that is $20.00 cheaper elsewhere.

But thanks to this economy we are all looking to stretch our dollar. I'm sure you will not argue with that.

Regards,
Kattracker

As long as they keep up the "service after the sale" (which is excellent) i'm not to concerned about a discount. But i have missed the auction items.

Saddletramp025 & Others,

I spoke with the Forummaster and he plans on starting the Auctions again in the Fall.

The main problem with the Auctions was over 70-75% of the items listed received NO BIDS.

So, we all need to jump in there when he starts them again and "BUY EVERYTHING" so he can add more items to it.

Whats nice about copper, no matter what their prices are I know if there is a problem with something I can always go to copper and have no problems. But a plus on top of that is copper always has the best prices.

Like I said when I think new cb stuff. Copper always comes to mind. Don't even think twice.

Many items on Ebay do not get bids either. And it's usually because the opening bid is set too high. They leave no room for the bidders to battle it out with each other.

And speaking of auctions, how about having a section on the forum where the "FULLY REGISTERED MEMBERS ONLY" can have their own auction block. Or at least a section for buying, selling and trading anything from radios to spare kidneys.

Gee Lon, you could even unload some of that old 60s-70s music collection that you don't need any more since it takes up so much room and you know it all by heart anyways. I'm sure you must be tired of listening to it.

What do you think Lon?

Jeff.

Jeff,

Separate Auctions would be a nightmare as someone would have to sit by and check every member to see if they are Fully Registered, and those records are only known to the Forummaster.

That is PRIVATE information that no one has except him.

As for Buying and Selling, Tradeing, I would say NO as they are too many problems.

If someone would Buy or Trade for a piece of equipment and it arrived DOA, the Comments from someone who is not happy, could destroy this Forum.

NOW for the MAIN ANSWER!

My Music will never be sold or traded or unloaded.

They have too many good memories for me.

AND, they are what keeps me so CHEERFUL, CALM, COOL & COLLECTED.

I will never get tired of listing to that GREAT MUSIC!

Heck, I would unload the House, The Business, the 1st Sargant's SS and everything else before my Music.

(boy I hope she don't read this)
