Taz, so you decided on the Lincoln, I was pulling for the Delta Force, hehe. No you'll really like the Lincoln, they are one of the best sideband radios. For several years I didn't think there was a radio except the 2510/lincoln. You wouldn't believe how popular it was when it came out in the mid 1980s, the hams and cb'ers both were after them. We had heard about them long before they became available. I remember when Copper first had them in their catalog, I called ever day for about a month, but they were out, whatever amount they first got, they must have sold the first day. A guy I knew from skip talking found some in California, and I sent him a 700.00 money order for 2, plus shipping. That was a little high, but they came converted and the clarifier tied with TX, which really helps them I think. Then the Lincoln came out with things the 2510 really needed, like variable power, which most people I knew had added anyway, they were really hard to use on an amplifier without the variable power. We used the SWR calibrate control. The early Lincolns that I knew about also came converted for CB. The next batch of 2510s had the chip covered in a big bed of wax, making them harder to convert, then sometime later they changed chips. They must have built millions of the 2510 in the first year, because many years later when you found a new one, it still had the old date. I bought some that must have been stored in warehouses for years because the boxes would be loaded with dead bugs and spiders inside. Overall, they have been a very dependable trouble free radio over the years. scrapiron

Alright Taz! I will either be talking to you tomorrow or Monday evening. It's been almost a year since we spoke on the air.

I'll hook up with you on YM for mode/freq when you receive that rig, okay?
