Want it? You bet! But I'm sure you don't mean for free.

Allagator, right now conditions are rough. Skip is generally harder in the Summer months, and with the solar cycle heading downward, now is not the best conditions to judge your antenna. Couple that with horrizontal vs. vertical polorization, and it may be leading you astray.

My old keyboard is making this hard with bad typing, but hang in there. If for free, can I throw my name in the hat?

I don't know too many people that run beams that do not also have a vertical antenna up. Once contact is made on the vertical and/or location is established, then swing the beam in their direction and switch it on.

Those little Maco 104s are generally pretty nice beams unless something is overlooked during installation.

Allagator,
I had a 103C that I just wasnt happy with either, switched to pdl 2's and got a lot better performance. Cute pic!

ive got a 104 also and gave up on it back about 1999. ihave an a99 up now, both on the house and the garage. the reason for taking it down was because cb died out around here and since i wasnt talking on it, all that metal hanging over my steel roofed garage waiting for some storm to blow it down bothered me.

Allagator,Kc0gxz is right many cbers around here have a coax switch and both a beam and an omni antenna for local and long distance local.

Allagator,

Sun spot cycles are 11 years long. Interesting stuff, which is kind of the way skip works is from solar flares energizing the ionosphere so your signal bounces off of it like a big mirror.

Its just right now, the atmosphere isnt charged worth a da*n and with that being said, it won't work all to great. :)

Keep the beam, you will really start to love it when skip rolls again

The beam is for sure better, I use both a GP and beam, but the noise level is so much less with the beam. When skip is booming in at 9 over, anything will work, but like Taz said, its down now, makes it tough for skip but good for local talking. scrapiron

lol allagator,

beams need to be on the vert for local, but usually horiz works best for skip.
