I've got my old JC Penny SSB mobile powered up now and looking for an antenna to operate it in the mobile. I've ordered an nmo trunk lip mount but no antenna yet. Guys, point me in the right direction. Suggest an antenna that Copper sells that will fit the nmo mount and do good dx for me.

Thanks a lot.

I have the nmo mount ordered. I want to give Copper as much of my business as I can. If Copper has a mobile antenna that will fit the nmo, I'm open to suggestions. They sold out of the Big bad mamma antenna.

It is how the mount is made the NMO looks like a flat disk with a thread around the outside edge and a center pad as a hot contact....there are several other kinds fo mounts commomly used all are good its a matter of what you are using it for.

Larsen NMO-27 is a good all around antenna. I used to have one on the mobile. Made plenty of barefoot Long DX contacts (Europe, Africa) with it and lots of domestic contacts. It's fairly broadbanded. For local coverage it's pretty good and will stand up to the carwash.

I'm glad I'm not the only one wondering? All my ham catalogs are still packed away. With a new computer, I find I have less time than ever on this new "toy". Darn kids and their education (YES I'm JUST KIDDING!) :) robbing me of my Copper time.

Meant in humor only, except the fact that my kids are now hogging the new computer. Life isn't fair......

I agree AL....My wife thinks she needs to get on and check her stuff all the time. I cant understand what she could be doing on the computer without visiting Copper....What kind of life can one lead if they dont even like to talk on the radio?? :)
