Hey guys, I was handed a cobra 29 today, doesnt TX or RX and its no in PA mode.
I peaked and Tweaked it for him awhile back and he opened the case and monkeyed with it.
Im not sure what the deal is, I was hoping some of you should have some insight on this one?

I redid the audio section with better caps, put in a trb-1 echo board, different finals, even sold him an rk 56 mic, receive mod, variable power, I added a "super talk kit" that didnt do much but looked good, lol.
And ontop of that I sold him my palomar 225 amp and he had a screaming little mobile then he goes ahead and opens the case and drops a stick of solder on the board and said the receive all of a sudden went dead.
I spent a few hours on that radio, makes me kind of dissapointed.

does the display light the meter work can you see it move with a strong station near by????? |

Was it ever hooked up backwards (+ & -)? Diode near where the power comes in may be blown.
Just a internet thought.

Yes Alsworld it was, and I clipped the resistor that burn out and never replaced it.
It lights up, and wont hear my station at all.
The meter WONT show any activity in any mode swr/rf ect. |

i have a 21 ltd thats doing the same thing
meter dead keys at 3watts and when i speak it goes backwards,,,,,, someones thoughts |

what is the thing beside the power supply is it a resistor or a diode the 1 on this 21 is burned out thanks |
