Yeah I like that tippy toeing, I try to sing along but can't get quite that high. LOL, yeah, right.
Hey I like the do-wah songs of the 50-60s, like the Temptations, Commodors, and that bunch, also Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Percy Sledge. And how about the old rockers from the Memphis area. I was around there in the 1950s-60s, saw a bunch of them, most of them were about my age. Like Elvis, I saw him several times at store openings and such, while he was getting started, then in clubs later, just him, Scotty Moore and Bill Black. Others were Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Charlie Rich, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison, Conway Twitty, several more I can't remember right now, all of them recorded at Sun records, Who can forget Conway's "Make Believe". He later bought his Mom a nightclub down on Moon Lake below Memphis, I saw him there several times in the 1960s, his mom was a lot of fun, and still a good dancer. I had a cousin that played backup on some recordings at Sun, and got to visit there once, i've got a few old 45's with the Sun label. Btw, old Sam Phillips, who owned Sun records back then, just died a few days ago. I saw all these guys above performing at local clubs around the Memphis area long before they were 'stars'. Charlie Rich played at a little old club down on the Mississippi River at Helena, Arkansas for quite a while before he made it big, I heard him sing all those songs he wrote for his wife, like "behind closed doors", long before he recorded them. That was in the 1960s also. Ah those good old days, layin' out in those honkytonks most of the night, then sweatin' and sufferin' on the construction jobs in daytime. And I wonder why I feel old now, ha, but I wouldn't take anything for the 'experiences', and would probably do it again. lol, scrapiron

I like the CB part at the end of this song.
Alan Jackson can write some songs though.

Who wrote that song "Convoy"? He's pushing up daisies right?

i aint sure who WROTE the song " convoy " but it was a man named C.W. McCall who sang it, around 1973 or so ( i am sure some one knows the correct month/year )...if you like "parody " songs, there was one called " yovnoc " ( convoy spelled backwards ) that was hilarious to listen to, but no idea who sang it...I used to have 45 rpm records of all kinds of cb radio songs, but burned them around 1985 ( whew what a stinking stench )....
