Well the band except into the deep south from here was dead .... scrap heard me and he was blowing smoke into tampa did anyone else hear anyone?

Hey Bruce, you were blowing smoke too, and you were coming up hill. I'm at 1300 ft, your at 13, so I got a downhill shot to you. ha
You and 134 are the only CEF members I got today, did get 3 or 4 others from Florida, and one from Colorado, not members. That's something how you can talk on that dipole, and it not cut for 11 meter at that. I thought you talked to 134 also, and to 155, I could hear him a little. CEF 108, scrapiron |

yep 134 and 155 heard me i think as for up hill im located on the ridge here in seminole florida... elv 55 foot at these hights the air does get thin explaining why im so dizzy at times.
All joking aside im 2 miles from the gulf of mexico and if i could get the antenna up about 70 foot i would have a clear shot to the gulf but lighting is so bad here leaving the ant at its 30 foot hight is MUCH safer ( seminole also requires permits for anything over 35 foot) The antenna im using is a 55 foot long center fed antenna with a tuner it works well on 40 20 and 10 but is alfull on 15 ..... Now what im THINKING of doing is is a endfed well grounded 5/8 wave just for 11 meters....the trick is not to let the wife know......she is a bit leary about what ive got up now and when the new room go off REDTAG and i can use it ill have 49 foot of roof to hid things on....... |
