Malicious Post's

From this date forward there will be a "0" Tolerance Policy regarding Malicious Post's made to the Copper Forum by any Copper Forum Member, useing another Member's Copper ID / Name.

This has happened too many time's now, and it is time consuming to trace a post back to the IP address of the sender.

It is "NO" longer funny or amusing in any way, when we have to waste our time to go back and trace these post's.

Then delete them from the Forum and Edit other post's.

If you are caught making this type of Post's to the Forum useing another member's ID / Name, your IP will be blocked from the Copper Forum and you WILL LOSE all Privilege's to the Copper Forum & Copper CEF Net.

If you have any comment's or question's, Please send them Directly to me at: Tech808@copperelectronics.com

I post from 2 different computers with 2 different IP's but not maliciously. Will the fact that I will be posting on 2 different machines make a difference?

I hope you are emailing those whose names are being posted under to let them know.

Forum Master Note : No using two different machines doesn't pose a problem. The problem is people are posting anonymously using a registered users account name. Registered names are reserved for registered users. Anyone posting anonymously must do so using a name that is not in our database.

It would help if everytime a registered user posted something they did so using their name and password.

Bigbob,

Only certain areas are password protected. Some sections like the "Open Forum" and "Product Reviews" sections are not password protected.

We have left those sections open so that new users can try out the forum without having to be registered.

A registered user can post in those areas without using a password.

I have tried and I get an authentication error, but I'd rather have it that way, more security for me.

Well,

For those of you who have had your Name/ID used do not feel bad.

I even caught one last week who tried to post useing my name.

Needless to say it was NOT posted.

If someone is attempting to post in your name then it sounds to me Lon that someone out there would rather be you than their idiot self.

Jeff.
