Can anyone tell me what class the Palomar 250 mobile amp is? And is it just an amp or a true linear amp?

In a way that is the same question, but ask that way, it may weed out the guessers from the people who truly know.

Thanks,
Kattracker

It is hooked to a Lincoln.

You don't happen to know what class that amp is do you?

Thanks,

I think the Palomar 250 mobile is Class C after seeing comparable amps on line but still would like to verify.

Can anyone tell me definetly what class it is?

Thanks,

Look,I have a palomar 250 with 2 sd1446 pills,in order for it to be as clear as it is on ssb it has to be very close to class ab-1,I get nothing but good reports while using it,not fuzzy or distorted or crackly, just LOUDER,there that should be what you need, but once in a great while the builder is asleep at the switch and puts the wrong components in and it could be anything or just not usable at any class, fortunately for the most part such is not the case, buy your amps from copper and ask before you order if it will work on ssb if they say yes then it has to be linear or ab-1.

I have a 250 as well, and when I bought it it said class C on the advertisement, but when I got it it says AB-1 on the side. I don't really know, but I tell you what, it screams on SSB. Great amp for the money, I think it's probably AB-1, but no matter, it still rocks.
