Hello Gang, After 10 years of being silent, I decided to fire up the 'ol rig again and to my suprise after all of these years, the band is still dead. What happened to this wonderful hobby? When I first got on the air in '76 while in college, there wasn't a channel you couldn't find someone on. I live in a city that has a million plus people and all that is out there is truck drivers and a few stations way out in the distant. I wonder if there is some sort of way to promote cb like the ARRL did with ham radio using the media. It would be nice to see some activity again. Patrick |

Radiopat, Got to the left of this section and click on keyword. Type in the words "sunspot activity". There should be plenty of information there that will help explain why the 11 meter (CB) band is a little dead right now. Just keep trying! You never know when the band will open up again. 73's stickshift |

Radiopat, 10 years ago, boy you are unlucky as the Sun Spot cycle run's in 11 year cycles and this one is due to bottom out in 2006. Go to COPPER's MAIN PAGE page and scroll down to the Bottom of the page and you will see: Sunspot Cycle Report if you click on it, it will give you all the information. The link is to the left of this column right under Forum Master Hope this help's. Lon Tech808 |
