I'm thinking about getting a KL-60 Amplifier for my base. (Cobra 2000 GTL with a Super Big Stick. It does have a dial a watt built in. I can bring the power down to less than 1/2 watt with swing up to around 10 watts) My question is, I have heard that some of the KL amplifiers have pre-amps that are on all the time. Does anyone know if this is the case with this little amp? I hope it doesn't have a pre-amp. I'll be running this with a continuos 12 amp power supply. Thank you very much. |

George, set your radio at 1.5w or so the carrier from the 60 is 12-15w out. The 12a supply will run it fine. It has switchable ssb delay, on/off, that's it. |
