Yaesu VX-7r. Pain in the rear to program(until I get the computer cable). 6m AM/FM!!(plus 2m,1.25m,70cm FM) General coverage AM is not as good as the VR-120. WIRES capable!! Battery life seems good. Stupid microphone connector is useless for my existing collection of spkr/mics or interfacing with TNC(requires $15 adaptor). Stupid SMA antenna connector requires $9 BNC adaptor for practicality. Overall, in fact, handheld accessories nickel and dime you to death these days. Oh, well... Not a bad radio. Too bad it's not QRP 10m as well. |
