Free-

Try this,... Tech 307 suggested I try it and it worked.

Put your cordless drill/ chuck/ on it and give it a whirl,... not too fast now. Sometimes the contacts inside get a little sluggish. If this doesn't work you might have to order a part,... pretty inexpensive though.

Good Luck

sounds like some of the " light emitting diodes " or L E D s have burned out. some are a grouch to replace, may need to find a junk 142 and swap the readouts...just replacing one or two of the LED can be timne consuming...if nothing else, just memorize channel 19 ( the noisy channel with the truckers on it ) and count the CLICKS up / DOWN to your favorite channel ( also could use channel 6 "super bowl channel " as a reference...or the SSB traffic on 38 lsb ....good luck !!

Freebird,
Sorry about that,... Bigbob is right,... take the knob off first. Spin it around slow to medium speed and see if the LED's come back. It might work, worked for me and 307 suggested it. If not, the part for that is pretty easy to find.
