There has been a change of plans. Im not going to get the station I wanted just yet. But Im being told that in order to use the President Lincoln or the Magnum 257 Im going to have to get a 30 amp power supply. I can get a 12 amp to use would that work with those two units? Im going to purchase the Magnum 257 and use it as a base for a while, then order myself a President Lincoln What is the power output of these two units after the 11 meter modification ? |

Wildchild I run my HR2510 and the Lincoln off a 10 amp power supply so i dont know why you would need a 30 amp !!!! but if you do decide to run a small amp the 30 mite be a good thing but it would be cheeper the get a base amp and a 10 amp power supply to run the radio !!! Just my 1/2 cent hope it helps !!! Allagator |

You do not need a 30 amp power supply for either of those radios unless you plan on running an amplifier.A 12 amp power supply will work just fine. |

I kinda figured that a 30 amp was a little large for those radios. They both do under 50 watts dont they ? I already have a 12 amp constant and 15 amp surge power supply. From what I have read both those radios do a fine job. |

I have each of those radios and run them off a 10 amp power supply. |

Wildchild You should be able to run a 50 watt rig with that 12 amp power supply with no problems. I am using a 12 amp constant with my emperor at 45 watts with room to spare. As for the power after the 11 meter conversion is done, the basic conversion won't effect the radios power with out actually re-tuning the radio. At least not with the Magnum or the Lincoln. hope this helps stickshift |
